Police arrest 13-year-old Hythe boy over robbery, vandalism and harassment offences
A 13-year-old Hythe boy has been arrested in connection with a string of robbery, vandalism and harassment incidents.
The robbery happened on Long Lane in Holbury, where a 12-year-old boy was said to have been targeted between 7.10pm and 7.40pm last Wednesday.
He reported his bag was stolen from him before later being returned minus £5 in cash, which had been inside.
Just after 10pm the following day, two boats were reportedly vandalised at Hythe Marina Village.
A woman also reported that two males threatened to throw a bottle at her car on Hampton Lane in Blackfield shortly after 9pm last Wednesday.
As well as this, verbal threats were said to have been made towards a victim in the Marchwood area between 1st and 30th May.
The 13-year-old was detained in Hythe shortly before 3pm last Friday on suspicion of robbery, harassment and criminal damage.
He was later released on conditional bail until 7th September.
New Forest temporary Insp. Tom Hannam said afterwards: “We recognise the impact these types of crimes can have on the local community and business owners.
“As ever, we really appreciate the support and cooperation of our communities and have once again taken swift action by relentlessly pursuing those suspected of causing harm to our communities, and making an arrest.”
