The driver stopped at the scene but, despite saying he would report the incident, he failed to do so.

New Forest animal accident blackspot route the B3078 Roger Penny Way, between Bramshaw and Fordingbridge, was where a cow was struck by a red car at Crows Nest.

New Forest Roads Awareness shared the appeal online, urging people to come forward if they can help trace the drivers responsible. Details can be provided anonymously.

The post said: “There is an up to £5,000 reward for anyone who will report these drivers.

“The reward is given once there is a conviction, and you can be the main part of that.

“Were you driving these roads at that time? Do you have dash cam footage?”

It added: “If you know anything, please do the right thing and report it.”

Anyone with information should contact police online at hampshire.police.uk or by calling 101, or call the verderers’ office, which is open Monday to Friday, on 023 8028 2052.
