A MAN is due to appear in court charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with five raids on Tesco Express stores including two New Forest branches.

Cash boxes were stolen in each of the overnight break-ins which took place across Hampshire between 17th August and 4th October last year.

As well as stores in Andover, Cosham and Eastleigh, the Tesco Express branches in South Street, Pennington, and Brookley Road, Brockenhurst, were targeted on 27th September and 1st October respectively.

Aaron Morgan (28), of Sydney Avenue, Hamble-Le-Rice, has been remanded in custody to face the conspiracy to commit burglary charge at Southampton Crown Court on 15th June.

Last year, police arrested a 47-year-old woman from Southampton on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with the same five raids, but no further action was taken after questioning.

Officers also interviewed a 39-year-old Southampton man under caution last year in relation to the Andover Tesco Express break-in.
