Supermarket sweep suspects sought after alcohol theft

A PROBE has been launched into the theft of around £100 of alcohol from Tesco in New Milton.


The Caird Avenue superstore was targeted just after midday on Sunday when two men entered before one left with a large quantity of drink for which he had not paid.

Police have released CCTV images of two people they want to trace in connection with the incident. The stolen alcohol is believed to have had a value of around £100.

People are being urged to come forward if they recognise the men pictured or witnessed the theft.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Do you recognise these men? Officers are investigating after a theft at the Tesco store in Caird Avenue in New Milton on Sunday 17th November.

“Two men entered the store before one left having taken a large quantity of alcohol, believed to be worth around £100, without paying.

“The theft happened just after midday. We are keen to speak to the two men in these CCTV images in relation to the theft.”
