Sailors from Walhampton School dominated on the water in May, achieving some fantastic results.
A team of 10 travelled to the Andrew Simpson Centre in Portland for the Millfield School regatta, with their top three boats finishing in first, second, and third place. The clean sweep on the podium saw Bora and Billy taking the gold.
The following week, the U11 and U13 Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) sailing events took place in Portland against schools from across the south of the UK.
In a fleet of 34 Zests, Archie and Toby took silver in the U11 regatta, and Rory and Lucas took fifth place in tricky, light wind conditions.
In the U13 regatta, Henry and Louis took first place in each race, securing some hard-fought wins, while Alex and Noah finished fourth in a fleet of 33 Zests.
The results earned Walhampton the top school result, retaining the win from 2024.
Head of sailing, Roger Morris, was delighted with the results and praised the children for their winter training and dedication, as well as their fantastic teamwork.
Children aged eight to 13 took part in these events, and the school is excited to see the younger children already achieving some brilliant results.
