AFC Totton make playoffs with win over Bracknell Town

AFC Totton have made the play-offs after narrowly defeating Bracknell Town in an enthralling game at the Snows Stadium.

It was an even opening to the Wednesday evening game, with little between the two sides who were both in the playoff hunt.

The first chance fell to in-form Stags striker Tony Lee who couldn’t capitalise.

Lee then broke the deadlock in the 39th minute from close range, firing home after a superb knock-down from strike partner Scott Rendell

Less than five minutes into the second half, the visitors pulled level through a powerful shot from Jordan Espirit, piledriving past Gould into the bottom right.

The Stags were back in front on the hour mark after Ethan Taylor reacted first to a loose ball in the area, making no mistake when slotting home.

Jimmy Ball rolled the dice first, making a double substitution in the search of a fresh burst of energy.

Minutes later Bracknell were back level after Great Evans converted a powerful low cross into the roof of the net from the right flank.

Totton bounced back again, though, as Marcel McIntosh driving down the right and squaring the ball into Lee who made no mistake firing home his second and Totton’s third of the game.

This fifth win in six games for the Stags sees them move into third place.
