Gender-neutral golf arrived at New Forest Golf Club when 42 male and female seniors played in a pairs aggregate Stableford competition off the red tees for the Phil Wright Trophy.

Presented by fellow senior member Gill Wright in memory of her husband, who sadly passed in 2023, all (except Gill) experienced strange tee positions and some unexpectedly different stroke indexes on a warm but overcast and somewhat breezy day.

Ian Coundon and Phil Walker played solidly throughout to emerge winners of this inaugural event, with Mike Ahearn and Richard Hammond just one point behind.

Coundon also won nearest the pin on the 14th hole.
