New Forest Golf Club’s Roy Nelson and Trevor Davies celebrate June monthly medal success

On an unseasonably cool, wet and windy June day, 32 New Forest Golf Club Seniors arrived for the June monthly medal competition off the white tees.

With the wind gusting unexpectedly at times, the use of umbrellas was inadvisable, making conditions even more uncomfortable. However, despite this, some good scores were achieved.

In Division One, Roy Nelson built on his trophy successes for this year by winning with nett 68, while Trevor Davies won the Division Two medal for the second month running with nett 70.

Martin Ranger won the Nearest to the pin challenge on the 13th hole.

Results – Division One: 1, Roy Nelson, nett 68; 2, Robin Swanston, nett 69; 3, Neil Archibald, nett 70. Division Two: 1, Trevor Davies, nett 70; 2, Frank Lockley, nett 71; 3, John Pickering, nett 72.
