Milford on Sea Tennis and Squash Club enjoyed multiple Dorset Tennis league victories during the winter season
Milford on Sea Tennis and Squash Club is celebrating after a successful winter season in the Dorset Tennis leagues, with multiple league victories against some of the county’s most established clubs.
The club, located on Lucerne Road in Milford, fielded 12 teams across various divisions in the winter 2024/2025 season, and their efforts have truly paid off.
The standout achievement of the season was the success of both the men’s and women’s first teams, who triumphed in their respective Dorset Division One leagues.
The women’s teams showed remarkable strength in depth, with the second team clinching the top spot in Division Two and the third team claiming victory in Division Three.
In addition to these incredible victories, several other teams delivered exceptional performances. The mixed first team earned a hard-fought second place in Division One, while the mixed seconds earned promotion to Division One.
The Ladies’ fourth team also came incredibly close, finishing as runners-up, narrowly losing out to Christchurch Tennis Club.
Head coach Dan Hitchins expressed his pride in the team’s achievements: “It’s been an amazing season, and to have so many successes is fantastic for the club, especially given that we’re not the largest club and have a relatively small catchment area for players.
“This success is a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work put in by our players every week.”
Milford on Sea Tennis and Squash Club offers tennis, squash and racketball memberships and a coaching programme for all ages.
