Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club held a recreational mid-week fishing trip

Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club held a recreational mid-week fishing trip aboard Ocean Runner, skippered by Ryan Jones, out of Poole.

The targeted fish for the day were bream and plaice, and 10 anglers set off on the hunt to the first mark at Christchurch Ledge, looking for bream.

With the anchor down, lines went in, and the first fish caught was a pollack for Robin Lane and a bull-huss for Garry Young.

Marc Duncan had a lovely ballan wrasse before Nelson Phillips landed another pollack.

The fishermen then decided to do a couple of drifts for more pollack, during which Harry Gray landed one.

The next move was to Southbourne Ledge again, looking for bream. A couple of small strap eels, pouting and dogfish were caught, but no bream.

After up-anchoring, some breams were finally caught by Dave Price, Phillips, Mike Fox, and Young, with the largest of 1lb 9oz by Duncan.

Down the home straight, Lane and Fox reeled in a plaice each.
