Hardley Runners’ Poppy Tanner takes the line honours at the latest Brockenhurst parkrun, with Jack Jenvey leading the way in the overall race
With several local parkruns cancelled on Saturday, the Brockenhurst parkrun saw 141 people take on the 5k course at Brockenhurst College in scorching conditions.
In the women’s race, Hardley Runners’ Poppy Tanner led the field home for the seventh time in a time of 19:38, which is just 23 seconds away from her Brockenhurst personal best (PB).
It was her 15th run at Brockenhurst since 2014, her 52nd parkrun, and she achieved the highest female age-grade score.
Leading the race home was M15 age category member Jack Jenvey on his second visit since 2022. He chopped over three minutes from his Brockenhurst PB to lead the field home in 18:08. Most of his 24 parkruns have been run around the Brisbane, Australia area, where he set his 17:22 parkrun PB.
M65 Hugh Gostelow of Canterbury Harriers set the highest age grade score. It was his fourth visit since 2014, and he set a new Brockenhurst PB of 20:25.
