New Forest Golf Club’s Steve Duckett storms to monthly medal victory

Experiencing three seasons in one day with an initially hard frost warming to almost summer heat under cloudless skies, 44 New Forest Golf Club seniors competed in this first individual strokeplay medal competition of the 2025 season.

Playing off scratch, Steve Duckett achieved a brilliant one-under-par 68 to take the Division One medal, while Dave Barrett also scored a great nett 68 to win Division Two.

Dave Titchmarsh won the nearest to the pin on the 14th.

Results – Division One: 1, Steve Duckett, nett 68; 2, Paul Chambers, nett 69; 3, Chris Hughes, nett 71. Division Two: 1, Dave Barrett, nett 68; 2, Neil Edmondson, nett 72 (back-nine= 33); 3, Terry Jones, nett 72 (back-nine= 34).
