IN a local derby that carried far greater weight for Lymington Town, Christchurch emerged victorious from the relegation six-pointer thanks to a late goal.
Bottom-of-the-table hosts, Lymington Town, came into the contest desperate to narrow the gap to Christchurch, who sat seven points ahead as the league's second-from-bottom side.
However, as the match entered the final moments, a heart-breaking winner for the visitors left the south coast side languishing nine points adrift.
The two sides battled hard throughout the contest, but their lack of cohesion and confidence showed, with the standard of play displaying where the two sides find themselves in the league.
However, just as it looked like the dust was settling, Conrad Churchill fired past keeper Dale Hind in the 90th minute for Christchurch to take all three points and secure their second win on the bounce.
Christchurch hosts Bournemouth on Saturday at 3pm, while Lymington Town travels to face Shaftesbury on Tuesday at 7.45pm before hosting Fareham Town next Saturday at 3pm.
