Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club held its fourth Large Boat competition from Poole, with Pete Chamberlain emerging victorious.

Aboard Ocean Runner, skippered by Ryan Jones, the decision to go was not taken until lunchtime due to easterly winds, with the vessel venturing to the entrance of the harbour in search of bass.

With the last of the flood tide, Ocean Runner moved further out to the sand for dogfish and congers. There, Dave Wood caught a nice red gurnard of 15oz, with others catching a couple of dogfish and conger eels.

With the tide having turned and starting to run, there were a couple of moves in search of pouting, bream and congers.

Chamberlain and John Wood managed to find five congers each, with the rest catching a few breams, with Wood landing a small ballan wrasse.
