Ballard School athletes grab 27 medals at New Forest Schools Athletics Meet

BALLARD School athletes from Years 7 to 10 won a record 27 medals at the New Forest Schools Athletics Meet at Kings Park.

Winning both U17 relays, the U17 overall championship and the U17 girls championship, Ballard dominated the older categories against stiff competition from nine larger schools.

A special mention for Spencer Whitbread, who won three gold medals in the 100m relay, long jump and individual 100m.

Many Ballard athletes will now go on to the Hampshire county athletics competition.

Gold medals

Girls relay (Year 10): Frankie Moulds, Carla Rudkin-Guillen, Tabby Gallina and Georgia Pitts. Boys relay (Year 10): Spencer Whitbread, Dan Leagas, Ollie Phillips and Tate Glynn. 100m and Long Jump (Year 10): Spencer Whitbread. 200m (Year 10): Dan Leagas. Long Jump (Year 10): Frankie Moulds. 1500m (Year 9): Darcey Hawkins. Discus (Year 8): Charlotte Silver. 80m sprint (Year 7): Aurelia Sexton-Chadwick.

Silver medals

200m (Year 10): Carla Rudkin-Guillen. Discus (Year 10): Max Weston. Shot Put (Year 10): Ava Dunford. High Jump (Year 10): Ella Marsh. High Jump (Year 9): Eliza Hamilton. Triple Jump (Year 9): Enzo Turgel. High Jump (Year 7): Aaron Simpson. 1000m (Year 7): Sophie Cotroneo. Javelin (Year 7): Bear Baylis.

Bronze medals

100m (Year 10): Frankie Moulds. Triple Jump (Year 10): Esmee Barnes. Javelin (Year 10): Tate Glynn. Discus (Year 10): Annabelle Bockle. 200m (Year 9): Millie Delahay. Long Jump (Year 9): Sophie Hayward. 150m (Year 7): Josh Cotroneo. Javelin (Year 7): Amelie Wilding. 80m (Year 7): Nick Hellyer.
