Alastair Pickburn leads the way at Lymington Woodside parkrun




Alastair Pickburn led the Lymington Woodside parkrun field home for the 12th time this year as 157 participants took on the 5k course.

Lymington Woodside regular and New Milton Junior parkrun run director Pickburn of New Forest Runners finished with a time of 18:18, almost a whole minute faster than second finisher Jordan Mackie, who crossed the line after 19:15.

International duathlete and son of local sporting legend Mick Anlgim, Brendan Anglim of Easingwold Runners crossed the line third as the last sub-20-minute finisher in 19:48.

Hinckley RC’s Amelia Towlson, who is in the JW11-14 category, crossed the line in 20:20 as the first woman, junior, and girl, earning the highest age grade score on the day. She led Didcot Runners’ Rachael Bartholomew by nine seconds later, with New Forest Runners’ Janet Townsend third in 21:49.
