THREE men were arrested following a burglary and an attack on a teenager outside a Milford hotel last night (Wednesday).
The alarm was raised around 10.20pm, with reports staff at South Lawn Hotel had confronted a trio of offenders who were stealing cans from a marquee in the premises’ grounds off Lymington Road.
When police arrived at the scene they discovered a 16-year-old boy in the road outside, who had reportedly been attacked by three men.
Officers arrested three 18-year-olds – two from Lymington and one from Pennington – on suspicion of assault and burglary. One of the Lymington men was also detained on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
All three suspects remained in custody this morning.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “We were called just after 10.20pm yesterday (27th May) to reports of a break-in at the South Lawn Hotel, Lymington Road, Milford-on-Sea.
“Three males gained entry to the grounds and stole cans from a marquee before being stopped by members of staff.
“On arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy on the road outside the hotel who had been assaulted by three men.”
The spokesperson continued: “Three 18-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and burglary. One was also arrested for possession of cannabis.
“They remain in custody at this time.”
