Rocks have been thrown at drivers in Lymington

POLICE are investigating reports of people throwing rocks at drivers in Lymington.

A Volkswagen Polo was targeted as it was being driven along Gosport Street around 10.45pm last Wednesday, and a post by local police on Facebook said other incidents had been reported in that road and Marsh Lane until around 11.10pm.

People are being urged to come forward if they saw any suspicious activity or have CCTV or dash cam footage which could help the investigation.

Police also reminded residents that officers do not monitor non-police social media platforms following reports of information about the offences being posted on them.

“CCTV and witnesses are imperative for a police investigation to continue, and if we are not provided with any, the incident cannot be taken any further,” the officers said.

“We kindly ask you not to put the information on social media and contact us instead. It is the support from the community that assists us in our investigations.”

Those with information should contact the Hampshire force on 101, quoting crime reference number 44200285019, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
