Letters: I love hearing the opera singers at Lymington market
Published: 03:00, 02 March 2025
I visit Lymington on a very regular basis.
This morning I have been to the market for vegetables. It lacked ANY joy now that Tobias (and sometimes his brother) are no longer there.
I absolutely love their singing and there are occasions that I have been there just to hear them – perhaps buying something from the market traders while there.
It is a nonsense to say that potential customers can’t get through the crowd. Yes, they linger, but only because they are such a treat to hear.
I have seen the boys turn down the volume if they feel they are getting too loud but surely a compromise can be reached.
Lymington is the poorer for their absence.
