Letter: What has the New Forest done to upset the police and crime commissioner?

What has the New Forest done to upset the police and crime commissioner?

On 19th September the police and crime commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight announced, to her great delight, the reopening of 10 police stations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including those in Totton and Eastleigh.

But none of those are in the New Forest, which has seen the closure of stations in Lymington and Lyndhurst, and the continuing absence of an accessible station in New Milton.

The commissioner said that the objective is “to enable members of the public to come in and communicate with police officers”.

Obviously the people living in the New Forest do not need to communicate with their police officers.

Does the police commissioner know the New Forest exists, or have we done something to upset her?

What action will our town and district councillors be taking to rectify the omission?
