Letter: “No mow May was a bit dangerous.”
SIR – I do understand why NFDC haven’t cut grass recently but personally find it quite dangerous in some areas.
My handyman kindly cut back the area near my front exit to the car where it was getting difficult and tricky to get to.
The 'lawn' outside here is over 1in high which is not such a problem as the end of the road where you join a semi-main road. The foot of a very busy road south is parallel with this road, and at best of times cars shoot left towards you as you are pulling out.
Now the area is dangerously obscured by long grass, and there could easily be an accident, as most turning into the semi-main road this way appear totally unaware of this road and need for cars to turn out.
I rang the council last week and told them how dangerous it is; they said they will be cutting it, but they haven’t so far.
