Letter: No hoots given by tree-felling KFC

IT seems KFC don't give a hoot for the environment, nor the general appearance of New Milton's Station Rd (A&T 14th June).

KFC claims the trees were cut down because they were causing damage to drains and walls. These particular trees were nowhere near their full height of 70-80ft, they could have been pollarded and any root or potential root damage monitored annually.

A huge international chicken chain restaurant like KFC should be seen to be helping the environment and its surrounds, but sadly the opposite has happened.

If you support the environment then boycott KFC – it's that simple.

I’M very sorry to hear these trees have been cut down in New Milton (A&T 14th June).

I must protest, and I do hope this is treated this seriously. This is business taking control without any environmental considerations.

KFC should receive a suitable penalty. If there is any thing you can be done, I don’t know but I fully support any penalties.

For me, all I can do is say is that me and my family will never set foot in that misguided shop in the future. I hope others in the area will feel the same.

Sorry, this is vandalism in the extreme.
