SIR – How many more housing developments is New Forest District Council going to allow on green fields and open spaces?

It is an outrage and the councillors should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

We are at a critical point in the fight against climate change, we need every green space possible at the moment – not more and more houses.

Are too many developments being approved on open fields?
Are too many developments being approved on open fields?

Every house brings with it two more cars creating more and more pollution and more problems on our roads (never built to take the amount of traffic).

Also there is never any consideration given to infrastructure, lack of school places, pressure on doctors, and lack of car parking in villages, to name but a few.

What about the prospect of flooding, because some of these houses are being built on flood plains?

We are constantly being warned of severe weather in future and flooding will be a big problem, yet no thought is being given to that!

We have already experienced storms, flooding and extreme heat even in the UK, so why is no one listening?

They are burying their heads in the sand and creating massive problems for the generations who will follow us.

Unless we all stand up and speak out, these councillors will continue to ride roughshod over us all and give no consideration to the folly of their actions.

This behaviour has to stop!

June Richards,
Bransgore
