Letter: New Milton feels like it’s becoming the Wild West

Over recent weeks I feel crime has increased, serious crimes like hit and run to a massive increase of Anti Social Behaviour.

We live on a road between the town centre and the estate over the railway line so we get a lot of foot traffic from people going back and forth to the estate. We get a large amount of anti social behaviour, drunkenness, drug taking and an increase in vandalism all this on a daily basis, worse at night on a weekend.

Last night around 9.45pm on Pleasance Way, at least 10 cars were vandalised with hundreds if not thousands of pounds of damage. Residents gave chase but the tall white male got away.

The police were informed, I believe, but never attended. So a report of vandalism doesn't get a police presence? Probably because there are no police after office hours.

They post their achievements on their Facebook site, however, they need to do more at the times we need them like at night.

Apparently over the weekend a lot of vandalism has occurred in that road and surrounding streets, people coming back from the pub drunk and decided to smash up various cars.

I feel crime is out of control and New Milton is like the wild west after dark and sometimes in the daytime
