Letter: Getting away with brazen theft

I JUST felt I had to write about an incident that happened on a Saturday night in the Tesco on Lymington High Street.

Around 8pm two youths – and no doubt they were no older than 16 – walked into Tesco, went to the alcohol aisle, picked up two cases of alcohol and with their hoodies up ran through the shop escaping without paying!

Is more police presence the answer?
Is more police presence the answer?

We were not the only ones witnessing this, numerous other people saw this happening. The Tesco staff told us they were unable to pursue them.

How disappointing is this behaviour?

When we left Tesco they were sat outside the estate agents enjoying their evening drinks, discarding the empty contents on the High Street.

With the council tax we pay, even a modest police presence would deter this shocking antisocial behaviour in our lovely Lymington town.
