Young pony and piglet killed on B3058 and B3054 in New Forest




A YOUNG pig was killed in a road crash in the New Forest a few weeks after being turned out for the pannage season.

The animal, described as black and not yet weened, was killed on the B3058 Holmsley Road near Brownhills, Bashley, at around 9.45am last Thursday morning.

A further accident involving a bay filly was reported to the verderers on Sunday evening at around 7.10pm.

Agister Robert Maton attended the scene close to the Norleywood Crossroads on the B3054 but although the pony was wearing a reflective collar it had been killed in the collision.

A third accident also took place earlier last week on Tuesday when a bay mare was injured at around 3.45pm on the Hilltop to Ipers Bridge road.
