Detectives investigate sex attack of woman on footpath between Rodney Drive and Howard Close, Mudeford




POLICE have launched a probe into the reported sexual assault of a woman in Mudeford in the early hours.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was said to have been attacked on a footpath between Rodney Drive and Howard Close shortly before 3.30am on Saturday.

Dorset detectives cordoned off the cut-way that morning to allow for a full examination of the scene to be carried out. No arrests have yet been made.

A force spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at around 3.30am on Saturday 12th June that a woman aged in her 20s had been sexually assaulted in an alleyway off Rodney Drive in Christchurch.

“A cordon was put in place at the scene to allow detectives to carry out enquiries.

“A full investigation is under way into the report. No arrests have been made at this time.”
