CHART-toppers The Merseybeats are set to play a retro gig at Highcliffe Sports and Social Club with support from New Amen Corner.

Hailed as one of the biggest bands of the 1960s The Merseybeats regularly appeared at the Cavern Club along with the Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and other top acts.

Their biggest hits included It’s Love That Really Counts, I Think of You, Don’t Turn Around, Wishin, and Hoping and Sorrow.

Today the line-up features founding members Tony Crane MBE (lead vocals and guitar) and Billy Kinsley (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) playing alongside Bob Packham and Lou Rosenthal.

The event will take place at Highcliffe Sports and Social Club on Friday 28th February.

Tickets are £20 per person - but we’ve teamed up with the event organisers QB Productions to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets by answering the question in this week’s leisure competition.

Find out how to enter by picking up the 24th January edition of your A&T. Competition closes on 31st January.
