Cash and bike stolen in violent New Year's Day robbery on Ringwood Road, Totton

CASH and a bike were stolen in a violent New Year’s Day street robbery in Totton that left a man needing hospital treatment.

The victim, a local 60-year-old, was approached by an unknown man and woman between 3.35pm and 4pm and assaulted as he walked along Ringwood Road.

His assailants then escaped with the items.

Having suffered a head injury, he was taken to Southampton General Hospital but later discharged.

Police investigating the attack are urging people to come forward if they can help track down the offenders responsible for it.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said: “Were you in the area at the time or did you see what happened?

“Perhaps you had dashcam footage?”
