Totton man bailed following attempted murder arrest after suspected poaching incident on Netherton Road, near Hurstbourne Tarrant




A TOTTON man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was struck by a car while confronting suspected poachers has been bailed.

Detectives are continuing investigations into the incident near Hurstbourne Tarrant, which happened on the night of Thursday 24th October.

As reported by the A&T, the victim, who is in his 50s, had tried to confront suspected poachers on Netherton Road around 11.10pm.

The group of men reportedly got into a vehicle which then struck him before being driven from the scene.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to what were described as serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

A Dorset Police spokesperson told the A&T today (Friday) the 37-year-old suspect had been “released on bail while our enquiries continue”.

District Insp. Stuart Ross previously said: “This was a serious incident and we know the impact that this has had on the local community.

“I want to reassure people that we do not tolerate this type of offending and are working hard to bring those responsible to justice.”
