Two-vehicle smash closes off part of A35 Christchurch bypass between Purewell and Somerford roundabouts

A TWO-vehicle crash in which one rolled partially closed a stretch of the busy A35 Christchurch bypass on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place on the northbound carriageway, near Burton Road, around 2.15pm, leaving one car on its side.

Traffic was tailed back as police kept the northbound carriageway closed until around 5pm

Paramedics treated two casualties at the scene, but a Dorset Police spokesperson said no serious injuries were reported.

Road users were urged to avoid the area as officers closed the carriageway between the Purewell and Somerford roundabouts while emergency services worked at the scene.

Local fire crews helped bring the rolled car back onto its wheels and ensure all was safe before both vehicles were recovered by 5pm.
