TRIBUTES have been paid following the sudden death of a staff member at a Totton school.

Testwood School headteacher Jenny Pitman said the school had been "very shocked, stunned and saddened" by the death of highly regarded finance assistant Marilyn Aouichaoui, who passed away on Friday (21st May) on her way home from work.

Mrs Pitman wrote on the school's Facebook page: "I would like to express my sincere condolences to Marilyn's family and I am sure you will all wish to do the same. Marilyn was a student at Testwood as a girl, then worked at Testwood for over 20 years and was well known in the local community.

"During her time here she was a school governor, staff governor and also became firm friends with a number of our staff."

Commenting on the news, one person wrote: "Very sad news indeed. Such a lovely lady who always helped and had time to listen with a wonderful sense of humour. Sending love to her wonderful children and the Testwood community."

Another added: "Thinking of her family, friends and colleagues at this time. Marilyn was always so helpful on the phone if there was a problem with my children's accounts. I know both my children have lovely things to say about her."

Students were informed by their tutors on Tuesday morning.

Anyone who wishes to share their condolences can do so by emailing jpitman@testwoodschool.co.uk

Cards and messages left at the school's reception will also be forwarded to her family.
