THE line at New Milton has opened after flooding saw major disruption to routes between Bournemouth and Southampton today (Wednesday).

South Western Railway services between London Waterloo/Southampton Central and Bournemouth, and between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier were affected, with replacement buses between Bournemouth and Southampton Central.

However, a Network Rail spokesman said the line had now reopened, but there may still be changes to some services.

The spokesman said: "Levels at have dropped enough for trains to safely start running again. Thanks to everyone for their patience."

Network Rail's Wessex Twitter feed also shared a video of the water levels on the line.
