Hours of disruption as train crew shortage to force suspension of South Western Railway services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier
RAIL passengers face hours of disruption today (Tuesday) as a shortage of train crew forces the suspension of services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier.
South Western Railway has announced trains will not run between these stations from midday until 3.30pm.
Tickets will be accepted, at no extra cost, on Bluestar 6 bus between Brockenhurst and Lymington, as well as on Morebus services X1 and X2 between Lymington and Bournemouth, 120 between New Milton and Lymington; and 119 between New Milton and Lymington.
Rail replacement buses are also set to shuttle between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier, calling at Lymington Town.
One bus will start from Brockenhurst at 12.15pm, with another starting from Lymington Pier at 12.30pm, and both running until 3.30pm. These are unable to run to a timetable.
An SWR spokesperson said: “For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
Passengers preferring to continue their journey on local buses can check traveline.info but are warned SWR tickets are not valid on these unless stated above.
