Track defect between Brockenhurst and Beaulieu Road set to delay South Western Railway train travellers for rest of the day

Defective track is expected to cause disruption for train travellers between Brockenhurst and Beaulieu Road for the rest of today (Thursday).

South Western Railway warned journeys were being delayed by up to 10 minutes as a result of a speed restriction imposed due to the issue on the line towards Southampton.

It was first reported around 10am this morning, and those needing further information or onward travel advice were asked to speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“At this time, we estimate that disruption to our services will be until the end of the day,” an SWR spokesperson said.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”

Passengers preferring to use local buses to continue their journey can visit traveline.info but SWR tickets are not valid on local buses.
