Avon Valley Community Matters organises Fordingbridge’s first ever lantern parade
SCORES of people took part in Fordingbridge’s first lantern parade before the square was packed for the town’s Christmas lights turn-on.
A free lantern-making event was held before the procession which lit up the high street and also included a pair of well-behaved Kelly's Donkeys, storyteller Danya Miller and local soprano Poppy Neame.
Claire Godson of Avon Valley Community Matters, which helped organise the event, said: “We are so delighted by the support from so many families as well as local organisations for our very first, spectacular lantern parade.
“Thank you to everyone who took part for making it such a memorable occasion.
“We feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community – such kind support enables us to continue our charity’s aim of ‘reaching out to all’.”
