Avon Valley Community Matters organises Fordingbridge’s first ever lantern parade





SCORES of people took part in Fordingbridge’s first lantern parade before the square was packed for the town’s Christmas lights turn-on.

A free lantern-making event was held before the procession which lit up the high street and also included a pair of well-behaved Kelly's Donkeys, storyteller Danya Miller and local soprano Poppy Neame.

Claire Godson of Avon Valley Community Matters, which helped organise the event, said: “We are so delighted by the support from so many families as well as local organisations for our very first, spectacular lantern parade.
