Met Office issues yellow weather warning for New Forest and Christchurch




A weather warning has been issued for thunderstorms to hit the New Forest and Christchurch today

The Met Office yellow weather warning covers a swathe of the south, with some areas set to see up to 30mm of rainfall in a few hours.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some disruption, particularly to travel, later on Monday.

“There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water, and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.”

Homes and businesses may flood and there could be power supply disruptions and delays to rail services.

The warning is in place from 4pm until midnight.
