String of driving offences earns Holbury motorist Daniel Smith three-year driving ban at Southampton Magistrates’ Court




FAILING to stop after a crash was among a string of driving offences for which a Holbury motorist was banned from the roads for three years.

Daniel Smith (40), of Waltons Avenue, pleaded guilty to not stopping after a Toyota Yaris he was driving struck and damaged a lamppost on Ashburton Close in Dibden on 10th October last year.

He also admitted driving without a licence and using the vehicle without insurance during the same incident.

As well as this, Smith pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen on the same date in Southampton.

Disqualifying the defendant, the city’s magistrates also handed him a 15-month community order requiring he undergo rehabilitation activity.

He was fined £80 and told to pay £199 in court charges.
