Three Christchurch firms shortlisted for Dorset Business Awards 2023

THREE Christchurch companies are celebrating being shortlisted for the Dorset Business Awards 2023, each in the top three of their category.

Bridge Health & Wellbeing in Bridge Street is delighted to have been selected in the Best New Business category.

Husband and wife Paul and Louise O’Connell opened their bespoke health and wellbeing clinic in July 2019. From their state-of-the-art clinic Bridge provides physiotherapy, chiropractic, sports massage and rehabilitation services, and Pilates, yoga, and other wellbeing classes.

Manufacturer and supply chain business Mar-Key Group of Airfield Way has been shortlisted for the Scale-Up category which recognises a business experiencing significant growth and a presence in its sector, growing new markets and demonstrating substantial growth in scale of business operations, markets and turnover.

The company says: “Whether you’re organising a high end event venue or an extension to your warehouse, we provide a solution that suits your needs.”

It has grown significantly since starting out in 1991, now offering two service divisions: Events and Structure Solutions.

Events meets demands for hospitality cover, shows, graduation ceremonies, ice rinks, celebrations and sporting classics such as Royal Ascot. Structure solutions provide warehouse and storage space, sports facilities, retail structures, for education, film & TV, and marquee manufacturing.

Very big in steel structures is REIDsteel, a finalist in the Global Business category, which earlier this year acquired a 2.2-acre plot immediately next to its headquarters in Christchurch, allowing it to advance plans to invest in a state-of-the-art manufacturing complex, new offices and staff facilities.

The redevelopment over 6.4 acres will allow REIDsteel to considerably enhance its productivity and capabilities in the design, engineering, manufacture and supply of steel structures across the UK, Europe and the world.

Award entries, open to businesses across the county, were judged by an independent panel of experts. Winners will be announced at the Dorset Business Festival Awards gala dinner on 12th October at the Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth.
