Three men arrested after police respond to reported attempt to steal vehicle in Beaulieu Road, Marchwood

THREE men were arrested after police responded to reports of an attempt to steal a vehicle from its owner’s Marchwood driveway in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The alarm was raised around 12.30am in Beaulieu Road.

On arrival officers found and spoke to three men in a vehicle opposite the address before arresting and searching them.

One of the men was found in possession of a catapult which was then seized.

A 19-year-old man from Holbury was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possessing an offensive weapon.

A 20-year-old man from Fawley was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft from a motor vehicle and possessing an offensive weapon.

A 31-year-old man from Holbury was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

But all three were later released with no further action taken.
