Three teens arrested after attempted burglary on Danecrest Road in Lymington

POLICE investigating an attempted burglary in Lymington this morning (Thursday) have arrested three people.

It followed a report from a member of the public concerning a property on Danecrest Road just after midnight.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: "We were deployed to the area and quickly located a van which matched the description provided to police by the victim, which then failed to stop for officers.

"The vehicle was stopped and searched, where two high-value bikes were found in the rear of the van – believed to have been stolen during a previous burglary in the New Milton area."

Two 17-year-old boys from Southampton were arrested on suspicion of burglary, with one also held for possession of a class B drug.

A 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The three remain in custody.
