Teenagers cautioned for shoplifting and criminal damage at New Milton Dominos, Marks and Spencer and Morrisons Daily
TWO teenage boys have received conditional cautions for criminal damage and shoplifting in the New Milton area.
As reported in the A&T, staff at Dominos Pizza in Station Road have been recently subjected to anti-social behaviour.
A 14-year-old from New Milton was given a caution for shoplifting and criminal damage at the pizza takeaway, and a 16-year-old from Lymington also received a caution for the same offences at Dominos, M&S Food, and Morrisons Daily on Avenue Road. The latter was also cautioned for possession of a Class B drug and going equipped for theft.
All the incidents took place between 14th September and 26th September.
Acting police sergeant, Sam Chapman, of New Milton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "My team and I will not tolerate offending such as this in our town.
"We have worked extremely hard to identify those responsible for these offences and will continue to do so going forward.
"If you work in a shop and experience or witness any shoplifting, criminal damage, or any other criminal activity, please report this to us at the earliest opportunity.
"We can look to take action and deal with those causing harm in, and to our communities, but only if we are aware of what is happening."
Regarding the use of conditional cautions he added: "These out-of-court disposals are aimed at providing young people with the opportunity to admit their offending and comply with certain conditions.
"The principle aim is to ultimately prevent offending by children and young people.
"As part of the conditions of their cautions, both boys must attend appointments as directed by the youth offending team.”
