Teenage boy sexually assaulted in daylight attack at Eling Recreation Ground
POLICE are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a teenage boy in a daylight attack at a busy Totton park on Saturday.
The incident took place around 2pm when the unknown suspect approached two youths at Eling Recreation Ground, off Bartram Road, and started a conversation before sexually assaulting one of them.
People are now being urged to come forward if they saw any suspicious activity and can help officers track down the offender.
He is described as white, aged between 25 and 32, about 5ft 10in tall, average build, with bleached blonde hair with shaved sides.
He was wearing a blue or grey baggy jumper, tracksuit bottoms or jeans, a blue tie-dye T-shirt and had a small black backpack with him.
Police investigator Douglas Gould from Hampshire Constabulary’s CID team said: “This incident happened in broad daylight and demonstrates very bold behaviour by the offender.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who might have been in the area at the time or recognises the man from the description.”
He continued: “We would like to reassure the local community that we take every report of sexual assault seriously, whether recent or non-recent. We have specialist officers who can support anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault.
