Fun calendar sees Highcliffe Bluetits Chill Swimmers raise over £600 for Mudeford RNLI

A COMMUNITY swimming group made a real splash when their special calendar raised hundreds of pounds for Mudeford RNLI rescuers.

The Highcliffe Bluetits Chill Swimmers hit upon the notion of putting together a fun charity calendar for 2024 in aid of the lifeboat station and were delighted when all 200 copies quickly sold out.

Group representatives Sarah Crosby and Daisy May recently dropped in on the volunteer emergency workers to hand over the proceeds.

“We came up with the idea of a fun calendar as a great way of raising money to support our local RNLI station.”

Following the calendar’s sell-out success, Daisy mooted the possibility of another print run if there is enough demand.

She added: “The money raised helps the Mudeford RNLI crew keep doing their vital work, saving lives at sea.”

Praising the club, Mr Hewett said: “As a lifesaving charity we really appreciate the fantastic efforts they have made to raise money for the Mudeford lifeboat station.”

By 1st October, the Mudeford Servant lifeboat had launched 79 times this year, more than the whole of 2022 when the station had 65 shouts.
