Christchurch motorist Dominic Marsden handed suspended jail term for two drug-related road offences




COMMITTING two drug-related road offences landed a Christchurch motorist with a suspended prison sentence.

Dominic Marsden (40), of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to driving a black Volvo V70 VRM on The Grove in the town while unfit through drugs on 8th November 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to being in charge of vehicle while unfit through drugs at the junction of the A337 and Southampton Road in Lymington on 22nd November 2023.

In addition to these, Marsden pleaded guilty to using the Volvo on 8th November without insurance.

He was also convicted of failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates' Court on 23rd August following bail.

Ruling the offences was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified, the Bench handed him a 12-week jail term suspended for a year.

He was also disqualified for 20 months.
