Large ‘house clearance’ flytip at North Slufters Inclosure being probed by New Forest District Council

A MATTRESS, carpets and furniture were among a large flytip discovered at a New Forest beauty spot.

People are being urged to contact the district council if they can help trace those responsible for the dump near North Slufters Inclosure, off the A31, between Linford and Stoney Cross.

Sharing pictures online yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, NFDC said its enforcement team had launched an investigation.

“We are looking to see if anyone has paid someone to take their waste away, as it appears to be a house clearance,” the post said.

It added: “When using a private company to remove waste, check the company can legally collect waste on the Environment Agency’s register of licensed waste carriers.”

Those who can help the investigation can get in touch by emailing customer.services@nfdc.gov.uk
