New Milton Residents Association hosting networking event
BUSINESS owners and residents of New Milton are invited to an event to network and discuss “positive” things about the town.
New Milton Residents’ Association is hosting the meeting from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday 18th July in the Memorial Hall in Whitefield Road.
During the meeting, the new “Friends of New Milton Station” will be officially launched.
An association spokesperson said: “We were aware that we have a lot of positive things happening in New Milton but we hear very little about them and their positive effects on the town are often unnoticed.
“We therefore decided to hold a one-off open event where local people, businesses and groups can come together, have a stall and showcase what they have on offer and network with one another.”
The association is urging locals to visit and learn about volunteer opportunities in the town. The town’s deputy mayor is due to attend and around 30 groups with local interests will be represented at the meeting.
They added: “We are encouraging New Milton’s residents to come and call in during the evening so they can see what is going on in the town and maybe even be encouraged to volunteer with some of the groups, many of who are having difficulty attracting enough helpers to keep their groups going.
“It really is something for all age groups and I know everyone coming is looking forward to possibly forming new links and alliances through the networking. We really want to encourage as many of the local residents to call in as we can.”
