Stagecoach students get taste of West End by performing at Her Majesty’s theatre in London




STUDENTS from Stagecoach Performing Arts in Totton got the chance to enjoy a taste of the West End when they appeared on the stage of His Majesty's Theatre.

They showcased their talents at the famous London theatre delivering a “spectacular” performance filled with song classics like ‘Spreading Rhythm Around’, ‘Ain’t Misbehaving’, and ‘This Joint is Jumpin’.

The event also included songs from Broadway’s ‘Some Like It Hot’ including ‘Vamp! ‘Take It Up a Step’, ‘Some Like It Hot’ as well as ‘Slap That Bass’ from Crazy for You.

The audience were mesmerised by the show which paid homage to the 1930s and Broadway and the students’ versatility and dedication.

Showcases help build the students’ creativity, courage and skills and gives them memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Alison Chant, Principal of Stagecoach Performing Arts in Totton, said: "It was an amazing experience witnessing our students unite and showcase their talents on the esteemed stage of His Majesty's Theatre. After weeks of dedicated rehearsals, they delivered an exceptional performance, one they should all be immensely proud of."

In the 36 years since launching, Stagecoach Performing Arts has seen more than one million students unlock their creative potential. They learn how to sing, dance and act with Stagecoach helping them to “blossom into well rounded individuals, ready to embrace life and all of its exciting opportunities.”

There is now a a network of over 60,000 students and more than 3,000 extra-curricular Performing Arts Schools worldwide.

Stagecoach says it “aims to make a difference in its students’ lives by teaching creative courage for life” and many children have gone on to study and work in performing arts from blockbuster films to countless roles in local theatre productions.

Early Stages classes are available for children aged four to six and Main Stages classes for six to 18-year-olds. They also run teacher training courses.
