Lymington Town can have no complaints about the result against Andover New Street, but the league’s basement boys battled until the last moment at Foxcotte Park.
Lymo – whose goals came from Jake Bockhart and Kaden Traynor – still await their first league victory of the season after 15 games, but there have been encouraging signs.
Lymington made the brighter start, and there were more than a few relieved home fans when an early Lymington Town chance flew just over.
However, moments later, Malachi Dotse broke through the defence and found the back of the net with seven minutes on the clock.
The visitors kept playing their football, and it took an excellent save from James Mayo's feet to keep Street in the lead, but yet again, Dotse went straight up the other end and scored.
Further chances came and went before Lymington won a corner after 37 minutes. With expert precision, the ball was swung, finding the head of Bockhart, whose header flew past a helpless Mayo.
With the break minutes away, Hassell tapped home a loose ball after Dotse nodded a free-kick off the bar.
Far from crumbling under the pressure, Lymington again started tremendously, and straight from the kick-off, they swiftly attacked, and Traynor found the back of the net to make it 3-2.
The two sides were putting on an entertaining match, with both sides attacking from end to end, but Street scored the crucial goal when Layton Tulk fired home to extend the lead.
Dotse ran clear and looked to get his third goal, but keeper Dale Hind showed his bravery, smothering the shot well.
However, substitute Shane Lock picked up the ball and fired home to see off the Lymington threat.
Lymington Town renews hostilities with local rivals Christchurch on Saturday at 3pm.
