Investigation into crash which killed pensioner Jill Stevens closes stretch of Old Milton Road, New Milton

POLICE closed a New Milton road on Saturday night as they continued to investigate a hit-and-run crash which killed a retired nurse.

The stretch of Old Milton Road, near New Milton Baptist Church, was blocked off around 9pm to allow forensics collision investigation unit officers to safely work at the scene.

This came over a month after 75-year-old Jill Stevens, of Compton Road, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision with a car around 7.30pm on Thursday 24th March.

As reported in the A&T, a 25-year-old local man was later arrested on suspicion of driving offences and released under investigation.

Police also wanted to speak with two women who were stood at the time beside a car, believed to be a BMW, in Old Milton Road, close to its junction with Hobart Road.
